'Trap Check Vol. 1' captures the music on the upswing

Trap_Check.jpg
Trap Check Vol. 1 is the latest mixtape to arrive via Freakstep Records, gathering up instrumental cuts from around the world (32 altogether), several of which are laid down by Atlanta-based artists.

Back in May Freakstep founder/owner Adrian "Zone3" Sosebee began working as a producer, so to speak, seeking out artists and contracting them to contribute exclusive cuts for the project. Some of the local names that appear throughout the tracklist include Black Siren, Heroes x Villains, Snellvillain, ADHD, HPNTK, Taste Tester, Klever, Grady Baby, Mighty High Coup (feat. Natasha Fox), Pancho Grady, and more. The mix itself, courtesy of HPNTK (aka Hipnotikk) and Sosebee, sheds light on the trap music movement, particularly from an Atlanta-centric point of view, making it one of the first compilations of its kind.

... Keep an eye out for Trap Check 2 which is due out Friday, October 12.
