Submitted for your approval: The tongue-in-cheek tale of “Bad Suzie,” a two-timing heart breaker and star of Atlanta songwriter Sydney Eloise’s latest video. The song's underlying country twang sets it apart from Eloise's typically rich, Southern pop and folk stylings, which is probably why it's a B-side on her 2012 Summer Sampler. But it’s a memorable one nonetheless. Directed by Allister Reynolds and produced by Deke Spears, "Bad Suzie" takes on a crisp and coincidentally country vibe, and the video's major accomplishment is just how colorfully it breathes life into the character (played by Sara Bess Norton) that Eloise’s song is all about. It’s funny in its modern take on a Betty Boop meets Laurel and Hardy vibe, while remaining a wistful and somewhat cautionary tale.
