LISTEN: Gwen Bunn's 'Death of Me'

Anyone in search of the city’s next great soul singer should look no further than Gwen Bunn.

Bunn made a splash this past spring by dropping some dreamy vocals on saxophonist Darryl Reeves’ acclaimed album, Mercury (on the track “Every Time I See You"). And a few months ago she took the small screen by storm, competing (and winning) on Black Entertainment Television’s "106 & Park" Wild Out Wednesday talent contest.

Now, Bunn is back, unveiling sounds from her forthcoming debut album, Melody Dungeon, which is set for an October release. And if “Death of Me,” her first jazzy-yet-thumping single, is any indication of what’s to come, we are in for a ton of great tunes.
