Wed., Oct. 10
—Moon Duo, Holy Wave, the NEC. $8. 9 p.m. @ 529
—Death Angel, Threat Signal, Bonded by Blood, Wretched, Potential Threat. $15. 8 p.m. @ the Earl
Thurs., Oct. 11
Fri., Oct. 12
—Featureless Ghost (Personality Matrix LP release party), Promise Keeper, Anticipation. $5. 9 p.m. @ 529
Sat., Oct. 13
—Young Guru vs. 9th Wonder DJ Set, Martina McFlyy + Xavier Blak. $10-$15. 9 p.m. @ The Basement
All of these shows are happening in the shadow of the 8th annual A3C Hip-Hop Festival, which is the largest independent hip-hop fest in the Southeast. There are a ton of shows worth checking out, and some personal highlights include: Big Boi at Terminal West on Thurs., Oct. 12. GZA performing Liquid Swords at Terminal West, and the Dungeon Family Reunion at Star Bar, both of which are on Fri., Oct. 12, and are going to be respectively epic. Check out Chuuwee at the Highland Inn on Thurs, he's a rapper on the upswing. Fat Trel at Masquerade on Fri. night is going to be brutal. too. But really, that's just the tip of the iceberg.
