Frankie Broyles unveils new five-song demo

A blown-out and ultra-compressed sound gives Frankie’s underwater yearning an extra kick

Image Before heading out on a European tour with Lotus Plaza, Frankie Broyles recently posted a new five-song demo to his SoundCloud page which comes together as an exercise in minimalism.

This isn’t out of character for the former Balkans singer/guitarist, but these newer numbers are pretty refined, at least by his standards, and the the guitar, drum machine, and occasional synthesizer trim that snake their way throughout each of these songs definite reflect what he’s brought to the stage for his solo shows so far.

The blown-out and ultra-compressed cassette tape sound of such songs as “Color Set,” “Night Drifting Phase,” and “Reception Hall” give his underwater yearning a little extra kick, too.
