"Pathos y Lagrimas" is a newer number that’s set to appear on Mood Rings’ forthcoming LP, VPI Harmony, due out via Mexican Summer in 2013. The video was recorded with Converse in a dilapidated building at Rockaway Beach near Queens when the group was in New York for CMJ earlier this month. This is also the first time the group has shown off its latest addition to the lineup, Seth Bolton of Living Rooms playing synth.
The song arrives as something of a transitional piece for Mood Rings, as singer/guitarist Will Fussell explains: “I found my self thinking more about the future rather than the past. However, still holding onto the frame of older sources, we began writing songs with the idea of unity. Not only with the inspiration of time, but with the idio-centric mediums of today's artists and musicians along with the tonal qualities that inherently adapt to those settings. Basically our idea is to form a combination of these settings into one plane, almost like a bridge from one medium to the next. Hoping to let ourselves, along with everyone else, realize that its okay to link the electronic sounds of the future with the analog tones of the past. But it wasn't just putting down a guitar and picking up a synthesizer and saying, 'We’re going to play electronic music now.' It has more to do with the arrangements and the over all sound of the song. What it exalts and what it denies.”
ooooohhhh, I'm so excited!! I can't wait to see them together!

Yes, 14 is the correct answer. I'll pass your info along to the group's manager,…
That was January of 2007, and they are 21 now, so I'm guessing 14?
