Deerhunter-curated ATP lineup is coming together

The Deerhunter-curated ATP Weekend 2 that's set to take place June 21-23 is coming together nicely. Performances by Atlas Sound (of course), Avey Tare, Panda Bear, the Animal Collective DJs, Dan Deacon, Tim Gane (of Stereolab), Laetitia Sadier (of Stereolab), Black Lips, No Age, and Pere Ubu (yes!) are already confirmed. And of course, Deerhunter will perform Crypotgrams, Microcastle, and Halcyon Digest in their entirety, in successive order over the weekend.

The Black Lips addition to the lineup is an interesting one. In Christopher R. Weingarten's Oral History of ATP, published by the Village Voice back in Sept. 2009, festival organizer Barry Hogan didn't mince words when it came to his feelings about the group after they were reportedly caught stealing alcohol from someone's chalet at the festival:

"Killing Joke and the Butthole Surfers will never play ATP again, and they can both suck my balls. And you can put that in print. The Black Lips will never play again - they're assholes. They broke into a chalet and started stealing stuff."

Apparently they've made amends, because there they are on the lineup, "officially pardoned by ATP."

More acts will be unveiled a little further down the line. Get your tickets.
