Prophecies be damned, ATL punkers play to the world’s end this weekend

Mayan prophecies won’t play out for at least another month, but that’s not stopping a rowdy lot of Atlanta punkers from raising some hell this weekend. Saturday, November 17 marks the first (and possibly last, depending on that whole Doomsday thing) Atlanta Punk Apocalypse at the Highlander in Midtown.

?
Hard-hitting bands from around the Southeast will hit the stage, with Atlanta’s own Nervous Jerks kicking things off at 8 p.m. Other acts include:

?
- Burns Like Fire (Athens, Ga.)

?
- The Flat Tires (Hickory, N.C.)

?
- Brains For Brunch (ATL)

?
- Antagonizers ATL (You guessed it, Atlanta)

?
They’ve even made nice little koozies - complete with a Mayan-themed, demonic-looking logo thing - to hold your $2.50 Red Hare Long Day Lager, the drink special for the evening.

?
I’m not sure how you rate your punk rock experiences, but cheap beer and impending doom are solid foundations for a great time - even if it crumbles at the end.
