Sure, it's only a matter of time before your band bursts out of your Mom's garage and onto the red carpet (those 8-Track recordings sound stellar, by the way), but chances are your ego isn't quite big enough to carry you all the way.
Welp, the Recording Academy wants help put you on the fast track to Grammy stardom. Who could argue with that, right?
Tonight, musicians and industry pros from around Atlanta have a chance to network with fellow star-gazers, maybe win some prizes, and definitely hear sales pitches about why it's worth shelling out $100 (and only $25 for students!) to get involved in the whole Grammy process.
Criminal Records is hosting, if you couldn't guess from the massive flier above, and offering a 25 percent discount on its merchandise for "new and existing Grammy members." There's also a hefty lot of raffle prizes, like recording time at Parhelion Studios, an XBOX Kinect thingy, and more.
It's a VIP mixer though, so if you're serious about this whole 'screw having a real job' thing, be sure you RSVP with Criminal Records sometime soon to reserve your spot.
Music Industry Mixer. 7 p.m. Tues., Dec. 11, 2012. Criminal Records.
