The local writer and blogger has held annual birthday parties and other shows in the past. He decided to expand, though, and officially considers this his inaugural festival.
"This festival is intended for people who may not necessarily have the time to go to shows every night but want to be exposed to some of the most talented artists in this city," he says.
According to Minor, the festival essentially represents a "recommendation list from me in concert form." It's hard to argue with the lineup, which includes: Book Club, Dark Room, Faun and A Pan Flute, From Exile, Hello Ocho, Jamaican Queens, Life At Sea, Little Tybee, Molly Parden, Nomen Novum, On Holiday, Oryx and Crake, Qurious, and The Electric Nature.
"My intention with this is for a festival attendee to be able to catch (at least some of) all 14 sets," Minor says. "I've always loved going out to SXSW and the hardcore music nerding out of trying to catch as many acts as possible in a single day, so I'm modeling this after those experiences."
