Weekend Red Bull Thre3style Qualifier returns

The annual Red Bull Thre3Style DJ competition returns to Opera on Friday, January 11. In this battle of wit and skill a host of DJs are judged on track selection, creativity, mixing, stage presence, and crowd reaction. Each DJ gets is given 15 minutes to spin a minimum of three different musical genres, and anything goes: from house anthems to girl groups to old-school hip-hop to Top 40 remixes. This year's lineup includes DJ KO, Martina McFly, DJ Legacy, Sofaking, and DJ EU. It's all hosted by Elizabeth "Feisty" Mendez, and the panel of judges includes Michael Mogill, Four Color Zack, and CL Music Editor Chad Radford. The winner will go on to compete in the Southeast regional finals coming up on Feb. 22 In Miami.

Free for 18+ before 11 p.m, $10 after. Free for 21+ before midnight, $10 after. Opera Nightclub, 1150 Crescent Ave. 404-874-3006.
