Calling all Deerhunter/Atlas Sound fans and film nerds! Bradford Cox is the subject of Youth Museum, a new documentary directed by Grant Singer that follows a day in the life of Atlanta's most vocal of vocalists. Singer, best known as a music video director for Diiv, Gambles, and Sky Ferreira, channels Harmony Korine's aesthetic here, especially that of Trash Humpers, with tracking-failure blurs and fuzzy sound to boot. Commissioned by the folks over at Riot of Perfume magazine, the film appears to highlight a few intimate Atlanta locales like Candler Park in the twilight hours, Cox's bedroom, and other peculiarities.
To celebrate the documentary's release, MoMA PS1 will host a special screening on Sun., Feb. 3, with a performance by Cox and "some special guests." One can only imagine who those special guests might be.
