Concert Picks A soul-flavored Valentine's Day with #FelaATL, Lalah Hathaway, and more

#FelaATL: DJ Kemit and the rest of the crew behind the popular nightlife event Spread Love have joined forces with the folks at the Knitting Factory to present #FelaATL, an homage to the Afrobeat stylings of Fela Kuti. Featuring music by a host of DJs (such as Chris Nicholson, Mike Zarin, Ausar and, of course, Kemit), live art, African dancers, face/body painting and more, the night's festivities are designed to get folks primed for the upcoming Atlanta production of the award-winning musical "Fela!" Lalah Hathaway: Daughter of the legendary Donny Hathaway, the ultra-lush-voiced songstress will serve up tunes from her five-album catalog (such as "Baby Don't Cry" and "I'm Coming Back") for a melodic one-night stand. Anthony David: The Atlanta-based, blues-tinged soul crooner has been making the rounds recently with his new band the Do-Gooders, but tonight David will treat audiences to a solo, all-acoustic show, performing old joints and songs from his latest album, Love Out Loud. Love is You: Singer/musician-on-the-rise Brenda Nicole Moorer (joined by vocalist Chanda Leigh) presents an intimate concert in the "great room" over at the 800 East recording studios, which has, of late, become the scene of several great soul shows.
