In case you haven't heard, Order of the Owl is playing its final show with drummer Corey Pallon tonight (Fri., March 15) at Masquerade for the Ides of March fest.

Within the last two months, Pallon was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes after it had already caused some internal damage. The physical demands of playing live and touring present something of a risk to his health for the time being, so he's stepping down. However, he did get to hand-pick his replacement, and after tonight's show Joe Sweat of the bands Mangled and Manic will be pounding the skins in his stead.

Order of the Owl plays Masquerade (Purgatory) tonight with Demonaut, Degradations, Givethemrope, Crawl, and Bleach Garden. $7. 7 p.m. 695 North Ave. 404-577-8178. www.masq.com.
