Christopher White, also known as Atlanta's noise/drone diabolist Magicicada, just dropped "Glancing Off the Edges," a track he describes as "a sonic description of a happy descent into the first triangle - a love song." Largely serving as a demo for his upcoming, in-process album Wrack with Ruin, due out mid-summer, the song is a schizophrenic symphony of ADD-electronics and retro-futuristic production. The mutant rhythm throbs through with reptilian charm, serving as a bed for focused improvisation akin to No Neck Blues Band or Boredoms. It's industrial pop, harboring stray shards of melody buried underneath a mound of polished shrapnel.
White describes the recording process as: "[I] recorded most of this track sitting in the woods behind my home with a tiny little synth and a sampler directly to my portable recorder, which in turn was manipulated further in my luxurious basement studio/laundry room."
