The Swimming Pool Q's, one of few underground rock bands to emerge from Atlanta following the Sex Pistols' first American show here in 1978 and flirt with mainstream success, are celebrating Record Store Day today (April 20) with a limited preview of a multi-disc set containing the group's A&M Records output. The band will be at Wax'n'Facts at 5 p.m. signing copies of The Swimming Pool Q's: The A&M Years, 1984-1986, available in limited quantities there and at Criminal Records, Decatur CD, Wuxtry, and Horizon Records (Greenville, S.C.).

The one-day early release includes four discs, including the first CD release of the band's self-titled (1984) and Blue Tomorrow (1986) albums, a bonus audio disc, and a DVD collecting television appearances, live clips, and promotional videos from the era. The set, funded by a Kickstarter campaign, will see a wide release on June 25.
