Hawks release seven-inch, open for Metz tonight

Hawks' show with Sub Pop noise kings Metz tonight (Mon., April 22) at 529 doubles as the release party for the group's new self-titled 7-inch. This latest two-song offering, released via former Deerhunter bass player Josh Fauver's Army of Bad Luck, is limited to 300 copies and has that polished yet rough-around-the-edges sound you'd expect from Hawks. Since the record has yet to be posted on the ABL Web store, does this release's availability at tonight's show qualify it as a two-day-late Record Store Day surprise?

Metz, Odonis Odonis, Liverhearts, and Hawks play 529 tonight (April 22). $10. 9 p.m.
