It's hard to believe it's already been two full years since Washed Out (Ernest Greene) issued his first proper LP, Within and Without for Sub Pop. While that album satisfied Ernest Greene-fans' hunger for a set of ethereal chillwave that lasted longer than two to four songs, the project has toured quite a bit without much activity as far as any new tunes. Earlier this week, he revealed the tracklist and "It All Feels Right," the lead single for Paracosm, Washed Out's second LP due out August 13 via Sub Pop.
The video meshes perfectly with the hazy and faded pop collage of the single. The vibrant colors and parchment-textured shapes float across the screen in coy, psychedelic patterns, karaoke-style, behind the song's lyrics. Sonically, Greene's arrangement and ideas have matured this time around, with the song's opening moments resembling Caribou's early-2000's laptop-psychedelia classic Up in Flames. The nostalgic and comforting lyrics are still present though with scenes of an impromptu summer party or road trip: "Call your friends, I'll call mine/We'll head out for a long ride./Sun is coming up now/It all feels right."
Paracosm tracklist is as follows:
"It All Feels Right"
"Don't Give Up"
"All I Know"
"All Over Now"
Nope, that's just a house around the corner.
Is this Stankonia???...
The song "Fire!" from their first album is still an indie classic.
The sampling, production, and live instrumental performances on the Claimin Tru track might have been…

Dasher or “Dahser"?
