Matt Weiner launches CGI Records, issues Featureless Ghost 12-inch
New boutique 12-inch imprint announces Featureless Ghost remix single
Matt Weiner, one half of Featureless Ghost, sole member of TWINS, and co-owner of DKA, just launched CGI Records, a label focusing on dance and electronic 12-inch singles. As Weiner explained in an interview with CL, CGI is “a boutique record label focused on putting out white label split 12-inches of more unconventional house, techno, and electro producers.” Earlier this week, Weiner announced details regarding CGI000 - an expansive 12-inch single that ventures deep into two Featureless Ghost tunes (“Sugarcoated” and “Cybosapien”) and darkly mutant techno remixes courtesy of Scott Fraser and Beau Wanzer. The four tunes, made previewable on CGI’s Soundcloud page, seem to take a darker tone than the duo’s prior material while each remix indulges FG’s early cold wave and industrial influences.
