Adron's top five favorite Atlanta songwriters

Posted By on Fri, Aug 23, 2013 at 12:13 PM

Who are some of the best songwriters in Atlanta? We asked local tropicalia guru Adron for her favorites.

Blair Crimmins
"Probably the only man for the job he does. I've never known anyone that can put together songs of such a specific era and genre with such authenticity and aplomb - and perform them like a badass."

Marilyn Carino
"Her songs are moody and creepy and beautiful. I've described her to friends before as being the real-life incarnation of one of those totally non-sequitur musical interludes in a David Lynch film."

Trappers Cabin
"Still one of the most creative and non-f*ck-giving songwriters I've ever met. And I'm not just saying that because he's a friend. His personality punches you in the face with its charm and hilarity."

Andre Paraguassu
"The mastermind behind local indie folk group Book Of Colors. I've always been amazed by Andre's constant progression and evolution as a songwriter, and he keeps getting better and better."

The Shadowboxers
"As far as I know, their songs are collaborative efforts, and they're all flawless victories. These guys are some of the most talented performers I've ever met, and their songs are expertly-crafted pop masterpieces."

Adron plays the Earl tonight (Fri., Aug. 23), with Misery Loves Chachi and Brain Box. $7. 9 p.m.
