Palmer Wood’s top 11 QUAD DJs

QUAD’s Director of Operations gives us his spin on the top DJs that regularly grace the club

QUAD @Spring4th Complex is known for Twisted Thursdays, Tuesdays @ QUAD, and different themed raves that go till the wee hours of the morning. Their residential DJs have spun alongside movers and shakers of the EDM world, and it’s time that they get a little recognition.

Palmer Wood, Director of Operations at QUAD, gave us his list of the Top 11 DJs that have played at the venue.

  • Another Monster

11. Another Monster
David Purcell, also known as Another Monster, is making it his mission to share his music with the world. He’s worked alongside Downlink, Mantis, and Protohype, just to name a few.

10. Ninja Flash
Ninja Flash has emerged from the Underground scene in Atlanta. There’s not much known about him, but he slowly peels back his personal layers through his music.

9. Kry
A young DJ who started out in early 2012, Kry has made his mark in the Atlanta EDM scene as a resident DJ at QUAD. Like any 19 year old boy, his hobbies include playing video games, eating tacos, and having a good time.

8. George Antonios
Antonios is a producer/DJ with expertise in piano and guitar as well as Ableton and Live Sound. Right now, he’s continuing his education at Berklee College of Music.

7. Quicktemper
Not a lot is known about Quicktemper, but he’s a regular in the Atlanta Bass War scene. Like his name, his music hits heavy bass with rage and temper.

6. Zan
An electronic chemist mixing electrohouse with drumstep and trap, Zan has played at QUAD for different events such as New Years Eve and Bass Wars.

5. Oculus
Another Dubstep artist, Jorden Stella, aka Oculus, is best known for his love of starting riots on the dancefloor. He also has a softer side, which is brought out by his love for felines.

4. Quadcontrol
Quadcontrol is known for some of the heaviest bass drops performed at QUAD. He’s known for his personlized mixes for the different Atlanta Bass Wars events every year.

3. Mantis After starting their careers in Metal and Deathcore, Taylor Scott and Paul Ollinger formed the DJ duo Mantis in early 2011 and have skyrocketed into the music scene with a fierce stage presence partnered with heavy tracks.

2. Syl-o
His music is as zany as his personality, Syl-o brings hard bass beats with titles like “Weed and Dinosaurs” and “Life Alert” (yes, just like in those commercials that come on with “The Price Is Right”).

1. Ployd
He’s a man of many names and one big beard. Ployd aka Bass Jesus aka Trap Jesus (you get the hint) has been around the EDM Scene in Atlanta since 2006. In 2011 he was named Atlanta’s “Best Local DJ” by Creative Loafing readers, and has played with electronic greats from Rusko to Papadosio.
