Nophest no more: Music festival wraps up this weekend

Posted By on Fri, Sep 13, 2013 at 5:14 PM

For those of us not yet ready to let go of summer in mid-September, Nophest Summer Music Festival is happening all weekend at WonderRoot. This homegrown multi-day festival showcasing Atlanta music is in its eighth year and ready to retire. Festival producer Randy Garcia says he's taken the Nophest idea full circle, and it's time for something fresh. Though Nophest will be no more, Garcia is churning ideas for its reinvention with a new face and a new name. Likely, Garcia will infuse it with the same energy, saying: "Nophest is the best possible scenario for a music festival. It's wide open, diverse, and free-spirited. There's no cool club or silly expectations. There are no corporate sponsors - no media alliances. It's a pure, unbridled party for friends and family." Nophest is going out with a bang, offering free kegs (while supplies last) to all guests. See the full schedule.

$10. Fri., Sept. 13, 8 p.m. and Sat., Sept. 14, and Sun., Sept. 15, 2 p.m. WonderRoot 982 Memorial Dr. 404-254-5955.
