With a stylishly abstract take on the A3C experience, Jacksonville, Fla rapper Paten Locke and New Yorker Edan closed out the Left Field Experiment at 529 on Thursday night, with a dose of classic hip-hop chemistry.

Together, Locke and Edan tore through a set of stage routines and knob twisting noise, along with several songs from each other's respective catalogues: The Edan songs included "Mic manipulator," "Syllable Practice," "Emcees Smoke Crack," "Fumbling Over Words That Rhyme," and more, while Locke's songs included "Ventilation," "Dumbtron," and a few more.

If you missed it, you missed out, but Dumbtron is playing the Star Bar tonight (Fri., Oct. 4). Tomorrow night (Sat., Oct. 5), Locke, Willie Evans Jr., and Dillon perform as Full Plate Fam at the Earl. Methuzulah, Bishop Nehru, the Difference Machine, Madlib, and Aesop Rock are also on the bill.

Paten Locke.
