Although it's only barely cut its teeth, Atlanta's newest label feels like it's destined for great things. Founded as a pet project of Ryan Parks, who also records and performs modest electro vibes as Fit of Body, Harsh Riddims intends to celebrate Atlanta's sprawling underground, whether it's cold wave, acid techno, future bass, ambient, or hip-hop. For its inaugural release, Parks intends to release Harsh Riddims vol. 1, an edition-of-50 tape compilation featuring Atlanta artists Claire (Elise Tippins of Featureless Ghost), TWINS (Matt Weiner of Featureless Ghost), Divine Interface, Broodlings, REKchampa, Kino Noir (members of OuterGods, BluntFang), and Houston, Tex noise-rap-industrial experimentalist B L A C K I E, among others. The tape serves as a fitting snapshot of not only on ATLlien's favorite sounds but also the many faces that make the city's vibrant, electronic scene.

As Parks explains:

Harsh Riddims is essentially an art project. Most of my creative energy is directed towards making music, but I have been eager to express myself visually for sometime now. Starting the label is my opportunity to do so. Harsh Riddims is also my chance to say thank you to my friends. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by the artists present on this first release. They have all encouraged and inspired me as a creative, and it is important that I give back, in some way, to this talented bunch. We are collaborators, we are critics and taste makers, we are label owners, we are show promoters, but most importantly, we're all buds. Harsh Riddims is for the homies, and that's no lie, no lie, no lie.

Stream Harsh Riddims vol. 1 in its entirety below. Cassette tapes are due out Oct. 15.
