Bosco's latest may catch you 'Slippin''

As 2013 draws to a close, local songstress BOSCO is ending things on a powerful note, breaking down her former image and laying the foundation for a more mature sound and aesthetic to carry her into 2014. Her latest video, "Slippin,'" premiered on Hypetrak last week and Bosco's breezy new vocal style works well over the lo-fi and bassed-out production work from NEVR. While singers like Solange and Lorine Chia have recently broken new ground by creating an environment in which women freely experiment within an R&B context, Bosco's style stands apart.

The jolting video treatment is thrown through an autumn-red filter giving the world a look of intensity as she spends most of the short film venturing through a trippy looking forest. Even with Bosco being at the center of a stylistic transition, she has mastered the output of an entire package, attaching an innovative video to an ingenious recording, and making certain the visual aspects of the release complement the track. On Nov. 13, Bosco threw a party in Space 2 on Edgewood Ave for Atlanta locals to catch a sneak-peek at the video before its debut the following day. Bosco isn't just in the game to create music, she's in it to create an experience.
