Tomorrow (Sat., March 1) the Mammal Gallery kicks off its inaugural Phantom Fest, an eight-hour showcase featuring some of the most stellar electronic and experimental acts in the Southeast. Local dream-hop mastermind 10th Letter opens the fest at 4:20 p.m. followed by Bird City Revolutionaries, Mobility Chief, The Darkwave/Abra, Asian Teacher Factory, Bees and Enormous Tigers, DAMS, and finally DIP closes the festivities out at midnight with their completely unique brand of, uh, “dip-based songs.”

The Downtown music venue is hosting the fest with local underground label Blood Drunk Records who is also releasing DAMS’ psych-tinged debut EP, fittingly entitled Dams EP. Tallahassee artist Chaya Av will be live painting throughout the festival in addition to selling silkscreen/relief prints, T-shirts, and an array of miscellaneous goodies.

As if an entire day of potentially life-changing tunes wasn’t endearing enough, Mellow Mushroom will be offering a “little surprise,” which is hopefully another way of saying “copious amounts of free pizza.”

Tomorrow the Mammal Gallery also starts their $25,000 Kickstarter campaign to fund fundamental fixes such as a leaky roof and more functional plumbing.

Phantom Fest. $7. Sat., March 1. 4:20 pm. The Mammal Gallery, 91 Broad St. Atlanta. 404-771-6912
