Funk Volume in-house producer and SMKA affiliate, Kato, recently released his debut album, Kato’s Revenge. The 16-track project is a collection of some of the Korean-American’s best beats over the last year, and was allegedly stirred by Kato’s embracing Reason software to go along with his penchant for Fruity Loops, a 25-key MIDI keyboard, and laptop.

According to the artist bearing its namesake, “Kato’s Revenge, sounds dark and spiteful, but it really comes from a place of growth and understanding. It’s me taking ‘revenge’ on people that didn’t believe in me throughout my career by way of success, because that’s always been the best form of revenge.”

From label mates, Jarren Benton and Dizzy Wright (“We On”), to locals Goldyard (“Get Your Weight Up”), Rittz (“Pimpin’ Mane” remix ), Scotty ATL, and more, Kato’s Revenge has a steady list of accomplices in proving the aforementioned point. Check out the LiveMixtapes stream for Kato’s Revenge below.
