>> Last night on late night, The 1975 did "Girls" on Meyers, Sarah McLachlan did "In Your Shoes" with a little help from the Roots on Fallon, Pharrell talked "Happy" and did "Come Get It Bae" on Kimmel, and last but not least, The Whigs (The Whigs!) did "Hit Me" on Letterman... Oh, and Mariah Carey, you know, the elusive chanteuse, was on earlier in the program, but she didn't perform a song. Although she did perform. Like the wonderful, singular, and insane snowflake that she is.

>> Jack White's super duper ULTRA edition of his upcoming Lazaretto LP comes with all the bells and whistles and kitchen sinks you can shake a platter at.

>> Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan) finally finds a replacement drummer worthy of Jimmy Chamberlin in Tommy Lee.

>> Full Stream Ahead: Le Butcherettes, Cry Is For The Flies, Baths, Ocean Death, Bo Ningen, III

>> "Like soldiers in the winter's night with a vow to defend, no retreat, no surrender." Related: Morrissey has the worst security ever. Unrelated: Katy Perry spoiled her Prismatic Tour setlist on Instagram. Also: You're no Rock 'n' Roll fun, Spotify!

>> Where to begin with The Mountain Goats.

>> Late Arrival: On The Rapture of Dancing Alive (or: I Finally Watched That Future Islands Performance and I Feel Changed)

>> Here is your official Month of May 2014 Playlist.

>> The Black Keys are taking Cage The Elephant, Jake Bugg, and St. Vincent out on tour.
