The Clap reunites for one night only (probably)

Indeed, the Clap returns to the stage at 529 tonight (Mon., May 12) to play its first show since Aug. 6, 2012. Since the departure of former bass player Amanda Morelli the group has recruited Charles Hellier from Polish Nails to play blass this time around.

This will most likely be a one-off show to have fun and play the songs one more time, but according to singer/drumer Tyler Walters, no one is ruling anything out. "We are back together because it seemed like the right time and it seemed like it would be fun to do it again," Walters says. "After the last show some of us were heading in different places in our lives and continuing on at that point was impossible. But time passed and some of us wanted to do it again - it just seemed right. We just want to have a good time and blow out some ear drums."

Organist Sam Wagstaff adds: "We all decided to do this casually and quickly for no other reason than fun. The likelihood of this lineup recurring rests on how much fun is had. Even so, I think it is unlikely this will happen again. Tonight's show will probably be unique."
