Christ, Lord bows out this Saturday

Posted By on Thu, May 29, 2014 at 5:40 PM

Adding to this year's list of disbanding local acts, gypsy-folk pop outfit Christ, Lord will play its final show this Sat., May 31, at the Mammal Gallery.

Christ, Lord has remained largely silent over the last eight months following a few heavy rounds of touring behind 2013's Live at Criminal Records 09.12.12 LP.

This last show is a send off for singer and accordion player Christian Ballew, who is moving to Wyoming. Likewise, the group's end is the result of its principle members - Ryan Lamb (guitar), Adam Mincey (upright bass), Brandon Camarda (trumpet), Julian Hinshaw (tuba), Billy Mitchell (drums), and often Maddy Davis (vibraphone) - moving on to other endeavors.

This final performance will feature the group's wistful ballads and klezmer-tinged arrangements, most of which showed up on 2010's handmade Magnalia Christi CD. Hello Ocho and Tantrum open the show.

9 p.m. Sat., May 31. The Mammal Gallery. 91 Broad Street. 404-771-6912.
