Tonight's the night that Noot d' Noot takes the stage for one last hurrah. Raise a glass in honor of the group's singular legacy of space-aged funk indulgence.

Doors open at 10 p.m., but we're talking about MJQ here. It's gonna be a late night.

Tonight's show is also part of MJQ's ongoing 20th anniversary series, and in the midst of it all, DJ Cozy Shawn Austin will also step up to the turntables to celebrate his own 20-year legacy. When asked about how it all began Shawn says he's been a music lover all his life, recalling his pre-high school years playing trumpet, and collegiate years hosting a jazz/acid jazz radio show on the WNSB FM at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA from 1991-'94. "I consider myself a music teacher and a historian when it comes to my love of funky retro music," he says. "I attempt to remain as relevant as possible by delivering a funky set, gig after gig, podcast after podcast. I meet new listeners everyday in a city with a music scene that's always growing at a rapid rate. As the scene evolves, I seek out funky establishments that allow and trust my funky selections to entertain the cool people of Atlantis! My mission is to keep the funk alive!"

Cozy Shawn spins records between bands and well beyond last call tonight (Sat., May 31).

With Noot d' Noot, Judi Chicago, and DJ Gnosis. $10. 10 p.m. MJQ Concourse, 736 Ponce de Leon Ave.
