The audiozine auteurs of ROAM are no strangers to the holiday spirit, having already delved into sublime spats of yuletide “Holidaze” for four years. But the crew is back with a new round of sonic merriment — one riddled with ghouls and goblins, just in time for Halloween. This time around, the ROAMers have compiled nearly 17-minutes of mirth and hauntology featuring contributions by Georgiana Starlington, Hollow Stars, Zombi, Tilly and the Wall, Daniel Bellury, Colin Mee, and more. The overall effect is wholly ROAM: In-depth interpretations of a theme that are both personal and immediately relatable. Throughout this edition’s duration, a doomed female lead runs through harrowing scenes of blood-spattered glee and nightmarish delight, typical to a well-worn VHS copy of horrorween cult classics. But does the heroine make it out alive? You’ll have to listen to find out. It’s the perfect soundtrack as we head into Halloween festivities.
