“The Who Hits 50!” tour stops at the Gwinnett Arena this evening, and you can bet the bank that this will probably be Townshend and Daltrey’s last hurrah in Metro Atlanta. Straight from the horse’s mouth, Daltrey recently explained to RollingStone.com, “I do know this is the last big tour we’ll ever do. We have to be realistic. I want us to stop at the top our game when we are still really good at what we do.” Despite the loss of the formidable rhythm section of Moon and Entwistle, there’s no doubt that the remaining members will deliver the goods. With a catalog that has sold over 100 million albums, it won’t be difficult to cherry pick a two-hour set of greatest hits commencing with “I Can’t Explain,” and heading through masterworks such as “I Can See For Miles,” “Squeeze Box,” “My Generation,” “Pinball Wizard,” while undoubtably climaxing with the one-two punch of “Baba O’Reilly” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” Not to be missed!
