HXV, Washed Out, and more to appear at the Big Bang

The mission is to enhance the cityscape by expanding creative energy into the outer limits of the urban frontier, and redefine how we view the city.

This Saturday, June 27, Terminal West plays host to the Big Bang, a block party that draws the weeklong Outer Space mural project to a close. Skateboarding demos, pop-up art galleries, and musical performances by the likes of Lettuce, a Washed Out DJ set, HXV, Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics, Mad Violinist and Symphony Crack, and more are lined up to perform throughout the day.

The mission binding it all together is a drive to enhance the cityscape by expanding creative energy — throughout multiple disciplines — into the outer limits of the urban frontier, and redefine how we view the city.

HXV’s Daniel Pollard is also one of the artists featured in this year’s CL Music Issue. The monthly VAVLT parties he spearheads at the Music Room dovetail nicely with the drives behind the Outer Space mural project. Each month, VAVLT creates an environment where HXV, along with like-minded local artists, have license to explore their sounds and learn what works and what doesn’t, without tailoring their performances to meet the demands of a typical club scene.
