The fortunate tale of MammaBear’s ‘Kick Me’

MammaBear’s latest music video captures Kyle Gordon’s infectious guitar licks and the awkwardness of blind dates.

A brand new video for MammaBear’s “Kick Me” tells “the Unfortunate Tale of Felix Wimblebottom & the Blind Date.” It’s all part of the pop-minded guitar rockers’ promotional push of its new two-song EP, The Strange Love. The video casts guitarist, singer, and songwriter Kyle Gordon (Starbenders) as Wimblebottom, a happy-go-lucky guy whose underwhelmed blind date is swept away by a typical jerk. Gordon/Wimblebottom gets the last laugh, though. Stick around for the surprise ending.

The other track from MammaBear’s new EP, “Strange Love,” was unveiled on Crib Notes on July 13. Both songs were recorded locally by ex-Ponderosa member Kris Sampson and tease a second MammaBear album, expected to arrive early next year.
