? On Thurs., Sept. 10, Brooklyn-based record label Paper Garden Records partners up with Creative Loafing to launch the bi-weekly “Ponce City Nights” concert series in Ponce City Market’s Central Food Hall or outdoor courtyard. The series’ name and concept is an extension of Paper Garden’s Chelsea Nights series at New York City’s Chelsea Market, and is set to showcase local and nationally touring acts performing live every other Thursday night throughout the year. ?

? ?
? The first installment in the series features performances by local acts Small Reactions, Floral Print, and Book of Colors. Paper Garden’s co-owner Bryan Vaughan checked in to answer a few questions about what the series holds in store. ?

? ?
? What’s the goal that you have in mind with the Ponce City Nights series?
? The goal here really is to create a series of unique events showcasing emerging artists — both local and national — in a non-traditional and creative space that helps drive attention to well-deserving artists as well as the launch of one of Atlanta’s hottest new locations for amazing food, drink, shopping, and culture. Not only does this allow for artists to gain exposure from a crowd that may not be actively seeking new music in the music scene, but it also creates a free, unique, and fun experience for the great people of Atlanta that hasn’t existed before. ?

? ??? ?? ?? Image ?? Is there an aesthetic in mind for the series? Will you be working with indie rock bands, or bands that are similar to what you’ve booked for the first show?
? Aesthetically, Ponce City Nights will be a combination of Paper Garden’s brand alongside that of Ponce City Market. Great independent music is deserving of a beautiful aesthetic and ambiance that often times the average dive bar or indie-rock club doesn’t provide. ?? ?
? Why do you think Ponce City Market chose Paper Garden to curate the series?
? After building from the initial success of our concert series at Chelsea Market in NYC, we heard about the opening of Ponce City Market and saw a great opportunity to build these types of series in other markets and locations — and once we came down for a hard hat tour of the space back in February, we were blown away. I think Ponce City Market chose Paper Garden for its ability to organize and curate an amazing and unique music series in a way that captivates audiences and gets people talking. ?

? ?
? Who else do you have lined up to perform?
? Just a few that we have locked in include Warehouse, Sye Elaine Spence, Fantasy Guys, Grand Vapids, Floco Torres, Victor St. Baloo, Sydney Eloise & the Palms, the American Roommates, Oryx and Crake, Monsoon, Gold Bears, and Book Club.
