The almighty Sunn 0))) returns to Atlanta once again, this time to shake the foundation at Terminal West on Wed., April 6.

For those who are unfamiliar, no band on the planet has harnessed the apocalyptic elegance of droning metal, minimalism, and the avant-garde with as much glacial power as Sunn O))). What began in the mid-’90s as a nod to the dark-ambient guitar drones of Olympia, Wash.’s post-grunge anomaly Earth, Sunn O))) (pronounced sun) grew into a spectacle of smoke and rumbling decibels as the group’s core members Stephen O’Malley and bassist Greg Anderson adorned themselves in long, black robes, creating a scene at their shows that could have been pulled straight from the pages of Dante’s Inferno.

One the heels of releasing 2015’s Kannon (Southern Lord), O’Malley and Anderson are joined on tour by vocalist and longtime collaborator Attila Csihar (of Mayhem), Steve Moore (Earth, Stebmo), and Tos Nieuwenhuizen. Montreal’s Big Brave also performs.

$25. 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Fri., Feb. 5 at 10 a.m.
