TNT's Raising the Bar is toll-tally awesome — ha!

I've actually never seen the show starring Zack Morris, aka Mark-Paul Gosselaar, as a floppy-haired lawyer-type, but I have seen plenty of billboards for the series around town. On that note, TNT has announced via e-mail that it will pay commuters' tolls at the GA 400 Toll Plaza going both directions on Mon., June 8, from 7-9 a.m.

Traffic will be a little bit nicer this Friday and Monday, when TNT springs for tolls in four major metropolitan areas to remind drivers to watch return of the network’s hit legal drama, RAISING THE BAR. Drivers in each location will be treated to free toll passage as they pass through toll plazas informing motorists about the series’ Monday, June 8, season premiere.

This marks the second year TNT has used a tollbooth campaign to promote RAISING THE BAR.  Last year’s campaign took place just before the series’ record-breaking premiere on Labor Day.

Year two of a tollboth promotional campaign? Who knew?

The press release doesn't explain how motorists will be "informed" about the series premiere — hopefully it won't involve everyone still having to stop at a cashier to be told. In any case, GA 400 commuters, as well as drivers in Orlando, Philadelphia/Atlantic City and Boston will have a little extra jangle in their pockets this Friday and Monday.

Cute idea, I guess, but it would have behooved them to publicize it more. I went through 400 this morning and, although the bars were indeed all up, everyone was paying their $0.50 anyway. Oh well.
