'Launch' Susan Brunet

Posted by Bobby Feingold on Wed, Dec 2, 2009 at 6:31 PM

Bravo's latest fashion-based TV show (following the unsuccessful "The Fashion House" and much-missed "Project Runway") premieres tonight. "Launch My Line" features 10 established designers along with 10 non-fashion professionals who all share the dream of heading their own fashion line. Of the 20 contestants is Susan Brunet, originally hailing from Atlanta. Three days after graduating from American InterContinental University here, Brunet moved to L.A. looking for success in the fashion world. She still lives in California and last year started her own line, Elevate and Collide. You can catch Brunet battling it out for fashion supremacy tonight on "Launch My Line" at 10 o'clock tonight.

The network Bravo is trying to replace "Project Runway" with another fashion show. Their other attempt, "The Fashion Show" fell short and I think this one will fall short of expectation, as well. Having said that, I did feel there were some entertaining moments. Besides having many names as their Type A exec.'s that I'd never heard of, I felt the designers were very believable and I found myself wanting to know about them and seeing their work showcased, instead of the silly executives. The judges I am not familiar with(and I'm in the industry) including DSquared 2, although I have a vague recollection. The twins are cute but not for this crowd. I kept expecting some techno music to start blaring to liven things up in the middle 20 minutes of the show. Lastly, I was very disappointed that the outfit that represented a significant effort output was scored under the catsuit from Valentine's Day Land. Why keep Lady GaGa look-a-like just to disparage her later?

Wow, there was a cute girl from Atlanta on that show; I think she came across as more believable and down to earth than the other characters. I would've liked to have seen more of her, obviously, but I really didn't understand the whole judging criteria. It seems that the judges like the most outrageous and theatrical stuff. Where can I buy Susan's stuff? Can anyone tell me where it is available? I liked the looks of that jacket and would like to check her stuff out.

Her line is called Elevate and Collide, I think if you google it you'll find locations where you can buy some of her stuff, girl wore some kick-ass boots, shame Dan wanted to do a jacket and she actually "played the game" the way the experts were supposed to and went along with his idea.
