Preview: Paper Twins at Get This!
Edgar and Nica explore their family histories and two different Souths in their solo show

Gone With the Twins, the Paper Twin’s first solo show, opens at Get This! Gallery this weekend. The duo, who go by the pseudonyms Edgar and Nica, are best known for their work in the streets, but they’re using the gallery space to create a more immersive, reflective installation. Drawing on Edgar’s family histories in Mississippi and Nica’s family history in Peru, the show explores a connection between these two different Souths.
The Twins let CL take a quick peek at the show last night while they were working on the installation. Grass is growing bright green on the gallery floor. Wooden figures abound alongside rocks, string, and other materials. Nica’s bright, nearly fluorescent pieces contrast with the subdued palette of Edgar’s work. They let us take a couple quick snapshots of pieces in the show, but the images only hint at the show’s scope. Check them out after the jump.
