Dance Truck brings dance to MINT gallery this weekend
With several ambitious projects in the works, the Dance Truck barrels on

- The new Atlanta arts organization Dance Truck continues to grow and change. Next up is a free evening of performances at the MINT Gallery on Saturday, June 25, starting at 8:30 pm.
Never short on ambition, vision, or practical know-how, the movable feast that is Dance Truck has tons of cool projects in the works. The arts-org originally got its start a couple years back as a way to bring performers and a mobile venue to Atlanta's outdoor festivals, galleries and streets. It seems Dance Truck has been pulling up to just about every bumper in town— Le Flash Festival, Decatur Arts Festival, Eyedrum, Garden*Hood, Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, MondoHomo, Museum of Design Atlanta and more—but lately they've also started putting their treads onto some non-truck related projects as well.
First up is an appearance at the MINT gallery this Saturday, June 25, at 8:30 pm. Dance Truck will be bringing in Portland-based dancer and performance artist Noelle Stiles for a performance of her work "Here Begins A Region of Eclipse." The show will utilize a vintage '76 Scout filled with sod. Stiles and Atlanta dancer Blake Beckham will also present a preview of “PLOT,” Dance Truck's most ambitious project to date. The Beckham-choreographed “PLOT” will be a major evening-length work which will have its premiere in late July at The Goat Farm. The performance/preview at the Mint Gallery this Saturday is free.
