Remember back in the day when you there were only a few bowl games. You'd awaken from your hangover, eat breakfast watch parades and then saunter over to the sofa - snacks in hand, to spend the remainder of the day watching bowl games and getting re-drunk. Back then you only had four that mattered: the Orange Bowl (Miami, Fla.), the Sugar Bowl (New Orleans, La.), the Fiesta Bowl (Tempe, Ariz.) and the Rose Bowl (Pasadena, Calif.). Nowadays you have a grand total of 34 different bowl games with corporate names like the Beef 'O' Brady St. Petersburg Bowl (seriously) to fill out the bowl-tourney season.
The bowl series which previously kicked off on New Year's Eve have now stretched from Dec., 19 through to the BCS Championship - Rose Bowl on Jan., 7. While some games have already been played, there's still a butt load of tourneys for you to veg out over. Here's a list of all bowl games including recently played games and upcoming scheduled match-ups.
After this tournament season, I hope the POTUS makes headway to change the way the BCS handles bowl games. I've grown tired of trying to figure out their alchemic methods for bowl pairings and ranking system.

On Christmas Eve, The Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder announced that he has confirmed an airdate for his animated series to return to Adult Swim on Cartoon Network for its third season. The popular show has been on hiatus for over two years. McGruder posted the following message on Twitter Thursday afternoon:
Finally got an airdate for Season 3. Not sure if I'm allowed to put it out yet, so I'll just say you got about three months! Merry Xmas!!
The Boondocks follows the misadventures of Huey Freeman (voiced by Regina King) his younger brother Riley (also voiced by Regina King) and grandfather Robert (John Witherspoon), a dysfunctional black family who move from urban Chicago to the upscale suburban neighborhood of Woodcrest, Maryland outside of Washington D.C. The controversial series has been nominated several awards and won the coveted Peabody Award for the episode "The Return of The King", an alternate reality episode where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr awakens from a coma after a failed assassination attempt to discover the new world and the corruption of his efforts for civil rights.
I wish I could take credit for compiling this impressive list of mid-season television shows, but the busy interns at Entertainment Weekly helped to create it. EW published their version a few weeks ago on Michael Ausiello's blog.

It seems that 2009 was a banner year for big box office movies ... being bootlegged.
Last week TorrentFreak published a list of the most pirated movies of the year with JJ Abrams' Star Trek leading the pack. The numbers were pulled from peer-to-peer sharing site BitTorrent and reflect movies that were downloaded (not bootlegs sold). According to the article, Star Trek had 10,960,000 downloads. This is sharp increase in piracy rates considering last year's winner - The Dark Knight totaled only 7,030,000 downloads. Some movies that made it to this year's top 10 were not released this year. RocknRolla (3) and Twilight (5) were both released in the Fall of 2008 and did not make last year's list.
Don't feel too bad for the movie companies, apparently piracy didn't hurting the studios too much. US and Canada box offices grossed more than $10 billion in ticket sales this year despite the millions of downloads that took place. Still, let me iterate that it is illegal to copy and distribute any copyrighted materials. According to The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), movie theft costs the industry $18.2 billion dollars worldwide with $7.1 billion of those losses attributed to online piracy.
Did you know The Beatles created Mickey Mouse. How about the discovery that The Beatles won the Superbowl against the New York Giants. More importantly, we finally uncover the truth: Scottie Pippin was in fact a Beatle. All these nuggets and more are mentioned in Scott Gairdner's mockumentary Beatles 3000.
In the video short, historians and archaeologist explain in lucid detail facts they've uncovered about the worlds most prolific music band. I've not seen anything like it since Futurama's (Hail Hypnotoad) the history of Atlantis.
Bang Media International reports that Susan Boyle the Britain's Got Talent phenom who stunned the world with her voice (not her looks) is being tapped to sing the theme song for the next James Bond film. Most remember Boyle's show stopping rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from YouTube that has amassed 81,404,945 views to date.
Its reported that Boyle is thrilled to be considered a prospect to perform the Bond theme. If chosen she will join the ranks of other chart-topping performers including Madonna, Alicia Keys, Duran Duran, U2, Sir Paul McCartney and Carly Simon. This will be the 23rd Bond film produced and Monty Norman, composer of the classic 007 theme music thinks Susan would be a "great" choice. Norman states, "They'll think seriously because she's got the right kind of sweeping voice".
Boyle is currently enjoying the success of her debut album aptly titled I Dreamed A Dream which has sold over 2 million copies worldwide in its first weeks of its release.
The Bond project (currently unnamed) will begin production sometime late next year and is expected in theaters in 2011.
According to Desi who is black and Wanda, a white woman who tested the HP Mediasmart desktop computer the facial tracking software doesn't recognize blacks. Desi goes so far as to state that HP computers are racist. As an HP user (printers) and a black man, I find this video hilarious. I wonder how HP will respond, maybe with a black software update.
