Cartoon Net GM resigns over Boston fiasco

By Paul J. Gough

(Hollywood Reporter)

NEW YORK -- Cartoon Network General Manager Jim Samples resigned Friday, taking responsibility for the marketing fiasco that put the city of Boston on edge two weeks ago and cost Turner Broadcasting System $2 million.

Full story here.

All right. We all have to be respectful of quivering paranoiacs in this age of presumably ubiquitous evildoers. But wasn't $2 million enough retribution for Boston's day of embarrassing gridlock? Do you want a lifetime supply of Scooby Snacks, Boston? How about broiled Roadrunner garnished with Tweety Bird wings, Jerry legs and a side of Bugs Bunny stew? We can just shut down the entire animation industry if it pleases you. Fuck.
