Kurt Vonnegut is unstuck

One of my favorite authors has died.

There will no doubt be many well-written obituaries about him, so I'm not gonna bother. However, here are two important things that most of the obits will likely omit.

1. The two pages in Slaughterhouse-Five depicting Billy Pilgrim seeing a war movie in reverse are, in my opinion, essential to understanding Vonnegut. You can read it here.

Vonnegut was an American POW in Dresden, Germany, when it was firebombed. It was clearly, and understandably, a defining event in his life. He obsessed over it and wished he could have made it unhappen.

2.

Kurt Vonnegut RIP
