Yes, you've seen his posts here on Bad Habits and also on FreshLoaf.com, and have probably been reading Don't Panic for years now. A few weeks ago, Andisheh Nouraee joined the staff of Creative Loafing, and below is the official press release. It's almost as funny as Andy's old Scene & Herd column.

ANDISHEH NOURAEE NAMED CREATIVE LOAFING SENIOR WRITER
ATLANTA â Well-known Atlanta freelance writer Andisheh Nouraee has joined the staff of the Southeastâs largest newsweekly, Creative Loafing (Atlanta) announced Thursday.
âAndyâs an exceptionally talented journalist, but when I first met him he was nothing,â said CL Editor Ken Edelstein. âWe made him everything he is today, so I hope heâs grateful.â
Creative Loafing hired Nouraee as a freelancer in late 2000 to write and photograph Scene & Herd, an about-town column that became known for Nouraeeâs irrelevant observations and rambling style. The following year, after 9/11, Nouraee, who holds a degree in Middle Eastern studies, began to write Donât Panic, the nationâs longest-running humor column on the War on Terror®. Contrary to the impression that letter writers got from a photo that once ran with Donât Panic, Nouraee is not a Muslim woman.
But he is one of Creative Loafingâs most popular columnists. In CLâs 2003, 2004 and 2005 Best of Atlanta issues, he was the Readerâs Pick for best columnist in Atlanta for both columns. In 2004, he won a Green Eyeshade Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for Donât Panic.
Nouraee had this to say about his new gig: âIâm pleased and excited and thrilled. Itâs a win-win and a great opportunity. Have I left out any press release clichés?â
Since joining CLâs staff, Nouraee has done basically nothing. Now that heâs employed, he figures he doesnât have to hustle. Edelsteinâs been begging him to write for Fresh Loaf, the newspaperâs news blog, which can be viewed at CLFreshLoaf.com. Heâs also supposed to write cover stories and serve as an editor for the paperâs Fallout section.

In a sea of halitosis, Andisheh is like a breath of fresh air (hosted by Terry Gross), warming the cockles of journalism with his cupped hand of knowledge, spelunking for truth in the cavern of ignorance while gently pouring a gallon of bleach onto the soiled and bloodstained underwear of fascism, and fertilizing the seeds of democracy so that, yea verily, it will blossom throughout the Middle East â which I guess in Atlanta's case is Poncey-Highland.
