News Five murders in Atlanta since Franklin's gone to Switzerland

A 9-year-old girl was murdered in southwest Atlanta this morning, shot in the head at an apartment complex on Fairburn Road.
At the end of June, the number of murders in Atlanta was up 46 percent from the same period 2005.
Since Mayor Shirley Franklin left for Switzerland on Sunday, at least five people have been murdered in Atlanta.
How many more people have to die before Franklin starts devoting as much time and energy to fixing our broken police department as she does to international travel? If she wants to see the world at the taxpayers' expense, she needs to join the Navy and let someone else serve out the rest of her term.
