Travel + Leisure's November 2007 issue has a listy feature called "America's Favorite Cities." The list compares 25 U.S. cities in 60 categories.
Atlanta ranks in the bottom half in most of the categories.
According to the lists, the city's good at "big-name restaurants" and "clubbing," and lousy at "ease of getting around/public transportation" and "romance" relative to the other cities.

I can only judge this from a New Orleans perspective, and while I'm thrilled at the Big Easy's rankings, let me take issue with a few mistakes: * New Orleans third for best ethnic food? Child, please. I love the diversity of food there, but it completely pales in comparison to what you can get in Atlanta â as evidenced by our recent Food Issue. Buford and Lawrenceville highways alone kill New Orleans when it comes to Latin/Central American, Korean and Vietnamese food. N.O. has a few awesome spots, but nowhere near the depth Atlanta features. Glaring misstep. * New Orleans second for "Diverse"? Atlanta is so much more diverse it's hilarious, and the previous category bares that out. The Latino/Hispanic population here is much larger and more active, and the African-American population is much, much more diverse, particularly in terms of its socioeconomic range. The black professional class here is much stronger. * And I'm just saying, if Charleston has more attractive people than Atlanta... well, I don't know what to say. The people watching here is absurdly fun.
