North Springs High School grad Channing Crowder speaks

Posted by Andisheh Nouraee on Thu, Oct 25, 2007 at 7:11 PM

Speaking of passports  ...

Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder apparently told a reporter he thought he might need a translator while he's in London for Sunday's game against the Giants in Wembley Stadium. He also confessed to being ignorant of geography.

I swear to God. I don’t know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that.

“I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him. That’s the closest thing I know to London. He’s black, so I’m sure he’s not from London. I’m sure that’s a coincidental name.”

If he's joking, the 2002 North Springs High School grad is a funny man.

If he's not, then, well, remind me to not procreate in the Sandy Springs school district.

North Springs is (or at least was around that time-frame) a good school with decent standards for student achievement and conduct. Just because one retard fell through home district or --most likely -- M2M cracks, doesn't speak of the whole school. The sad thing is this isn't exclusive of North Springs, or Fulton county, nor is it a recent development among our generation. It's just another sign of the dumbing down of America.

Help me out here. You're saying this is only one guy. But then you're saying this is a sign of the dumbing down of America? Isn't this more a sign of how much public high schools dumb down academic standards for their athletes?

Chris -- I was kidding about North Springs H.S. Besides, I think it'd be impossible to procreate in Sandy Springs. The traffic's so bad that, by the time I'd get home I'd be too tired.

just to let you guys know, i graduated a year ahead of Channing and actually had classes with him. We were friends back then, and still are to this day. Channing was smart in school, and from what i remember, he was a member of the National Honor Society. He was, and still is a big joker too.
