Bizarre bar scene of the week

Posted by Lauren Keating on Thu, Nov 8, 2007 at 10:00 AM

A woman walked into a bar on North Avenue and told employees she was being followed and she was afraid. She had an IV on her arm and a heart monitor. A police officer asked: "What's going on?" "She said she left Crawford Long Hospital because her boyfriend poisoned her IV, and when she unplugged her IV, she started feeling better, so she left," the officer noted. "While leaving, she observed her boyfriend and several of her boyfriend's friends chasing her." Grady medics arrived at the bar and said the woman is an active patient at Crawford Long, so the police officer should get her back there. The officer drove her to the hospital, where she jumped out of the patrol car and said she was "not going back there." So the officer arrested her, handcuffed her and got her back to the hospital. Crawford Long security guards agreed to stay with the 33-year-old woman until she is released.
