Bobby Petrino dumped Atlanta.
Getting dumped sucks.
Atlanta felt badly, lashed out, and bad-mouthed Petrino to anyone who'd listen.
Now Atlanta has apparently started a relationship with one of modern pro football's most successful coaches -- a relationship that might not have been possible had Petrino not dumped Atlanta when he did.
The end of a bad relationship is a good thing. If Atlanta's better off, and Petrino's better off, the only reason for lingering hard feelings is unhealthy egotism.
I think Atlanta should write Petrino a nice note apologizing for all the mean things it said.

Dear Bobby. Sorry you're a quitter and a hack. Love, Sellout.
Parcells has now spurned us as well. The Falcons need a fight song to cheer me up.
Since Parcells is out, is your point null and void? Are we allowed to once again hate Petrino?
Now I know how Arthur Blank feels. Parcells further ruins Blank's reputation, at the same time, ruining my smug joke. Bastard. Atlanta Falcons fans should still be glad Petrino's gone -- for all of the same reasons they list when they insult him for leaving. Uncommitted, couldn't cut it in the pros, two-faced, etc. I think we should reserve hatred for more deserving people. Since you asked.
On that, Mr. Nouraee, we can agree. There a lot more people out there to hate a lot more than Petrino. Hell, I hate myself more than I hate Petrino (which isn't much). And of course, there's always those damn bus drivers who park in the middle of the road ;-) !
You reminded me. MARTA told me they asked the driver not to park there anymore. They didn't really answer the question about their parking rules (is it okay to park on a busy street or not?) but they called me and said it won't happen again. Now, if only they'd listen to my complaints about Breeze Cards.
Don't ever say you didn't make a difference in life. I think this effort alone assures you an obit in the AJC!
